CBD office foyer ceiling upgrade, Eagle Street
After-hours foyer ceiling upgrade in a landmark Eagle Street Brisbane tower, delivered over two weekends with full marble and glass protection.
The challenge
Upgrading the foyer ceiling of a high-profile, landmark CBD building presented an array of complex physical constraints and high-stakes risks. The building houses premium international tenants and law firms, meaning the execution had to be absolutely immaculate, with zero tolerance for disruptions, delays or aesthetic defects.
The physical environment itself posed severe logistical hurdles. The ceiling was only accessible via heavy scissor lifts, introducing a high risk of damage to the premium marble flooring and the building’s 6-metre-tall glass facade. Strict carpark height restrictions also limited how materials and machinery could be moved into the space.
The Fixed solution
True to our reputation for tackling complex jobs without the fuss, our team treated the site with meticulous precision. To eliminate any risk to the building’s infrastructure, we engaged structural engineers to calculate weight distributions and guarantee the scissor lifts wouldn’t compromise the marble floors.
Works were compressed into tight, after-hours weekend shifts across two consecutive weeks. Specialised floor and glass protection was deployed at 6:00 PM every Friday. Our trade teams then worked around the clock on heavy plaster patching, extensive sanding and top-coating to prepare the surface, applying a Dulux undercoat followed by two premium topcoats to manufacturer specifications. By 12:00 PM each Sunday, all protection was stripped and the site cleared for the cleaning crews, so the foyer was handed back in pristine condition.
The result
The project was delivered with zero injuries, zero defects and zero variations. By 6:00 AM on Monday morning, the foyer was open, immaculate and fully operational. The client was genuinely ecstatic with the professional service and exceptional quality, proving once again that when constraints are high, we get it Fixed the first time.
